Save With A Ventless Propane Fireplace

Traditional fireplaces use a chimney to vent smoke and particulate matter created by burning wood, a ventless propane fireplace has no vent, no chimney nor any particulate matter to vent. The ventless fireplaces are designed to burn natural gas or propane as efficiently as possible and are equipped with special safety cutoffs, which will cut off the power source if the oxygen percentage within a room dips below an acceptable level.

Wood burning fireplaces can be rather expensive if the consumer lives within a city and must purchase wood by the cord. They also contribute an unacceptable amount to already large amounts of air pollution. This has become such a problem that wood burning fireplaces bans have been proposed in high pollution areas in California.

The ventless propane fireplace is unaffected by these bans and provides the warm glow of a fireplace and is permanently connected by means of tubing to a gas or propane source. Since there are no emissions to speak of it is a much cleaner alternative to wood and more economical when compared to either electric or wood fireplaces.

These fireplaces will have natural looking ceramic logs, a clean burning flame and can even come or be supplied with a mantel. It is essentially must lower maintenance than a wood burning fireplace and the messy chimney.

When heat is but a secondary consideration most consumers find that the gas fireplace will provide the ambience desired and a live flame that can dance and provide a gentle light without polluting the atmosphere or being subject to local bans on emissions.

However, if you are currently the owner of a traditional wood burning fireplace complete with chimney you are still not limited to the high cost of wood or electricity you can use a fireplace insert instead.

These units fit inside the traditional fireplace and may even utilize propane as a power source. Or you can choose to remain with wood burning and simply install a fireplace insert which enhances the looks of your home, increases the efficiency of the fireplace, eliminates the mess associated with a fireplace and may even incorporate a blower which will increase efficiency.

You do not necessarily have to be bound by the traditional wood fuel if you do not wish to. You can utilize your fireplace and have a warm cheery flame with a ventless propane fireplace insert. Alternatively, you can remain with the wood as fuel and perhaps maximize its heating by installing a fireplace insert that will increase the heat received from the wood burning fireplace with blowers and a more efficient design.

If you do not have an existing fireplace, a freestanding propane fireplace can provide the warmth and beauty of a fireplace without the need for a chimney or logs if you select a ventless one. The possibilities are limited only by your preferences in fuel sources and the space available in your home and the fireplace supplier you choose and the line of fireplace inserts or products they carry.
